Where the data comes from
County program details are gathered from official county and state government sources (.gov pages, published ordinances, and program documents) and then confirmed directly, by phone or through the office's own published materials, before a page is marked verified. Federal benefit figures link to their primary source at SSA.gov, VA.gov, or the responsible agency.
Confidence labels
- Verified: a human confirmed the details with the office or its official materials. The date and source appear on the page.
- Official source: pulled from a government page but not yet independently confirmed.
- Unverified: the page shows general guidance only, is excluded from search engines, and does not display program details.
How often pages are re-checked
An automated monitor flags any program record not re-verified within 180 days, and re-checks its official source for changes to phone numbers, amounts, and departments. Changes are reviewed by a human before publishing. Federal benefit amounts are re-checked each January when agencies publish annual updates.
Corrections
If you find something outdated, tell us through the contact page. Corrections are prioritized above all other work, because a wrong phone number on this site costs a grieving family real time. Every page shows its last-verified date so you can judge freshness yourself.
What this site is not
We are not lawyers, financial advisors, or a government agency. Content here is general information, not legal or financial advice. For legal questions about estates and debt, free legal aid programs exist in every state; we link to them where relevant.
